Before adjusting your online availability, be sure to copy your base shift to a future date to save your current settings.

First, determine your overall hourly seating capacity using our capacity calculator.

Then, navigate to your Service Settings in the dashboard:

Then, under Service Settings, click on the three dots and select Copy Shift

Under Step 1, select a future date (ideally a few months later - you can always adjust this if needed) for your shift to start and then click Copy Shift. Copying the existing shift(s) allows you to retain your previous settings in case you need them for future use.

Once you have copied the base shift, it will automatically end your current shift on the date before your new shift's start date. Now you can adjust the current shift with a new floor plan, availability, or pacing changes to reflect what shows up online.

Availability

The best way to quickly adjust your availability to align with capacity guidelines is to change tables to walk-in status.

As a reminder, tables can be set to one or more of the following attributes.

Table Attributes = Table Availability for Booking

  • ONLINE: Tables set to 'Online' are available for booking by guests through Resy.com, your widget or website, and through the Resy diner app.
  • IN-HOUSE: Tables set to 'In-House' are available to book in-house through ResyOS. For example, reservation taken over the phone or in-person.
  • WALK-IN: Tables set to 'Walk-in' are NOT available for booking online or in-house and allow you to decide how to use the table in the shift. For example, you have patio tables that are weather dependent and you do not want them booked ahead of time but can choose to assign day of.

  4. Choose the 'Shift Settings' tab.
  5. Click the three dots icon next to the shift you'd like to edit and choose 'Edit'.
  6. Click 'Step 3 Availability' on the left hand side of the shift editor.

To Update Availability in the shift editor:

  1. Select Online, In-House, or Walk-in for the Table Type
  2. This will make all tables with that Table Type the same attribute
  3. You can also tap on the carrot, to the left of the table names, to assign an attribute to individual tables.

The Mixed attribute cannot be selected, this shows tables have a MIX of availability settings throughout the shift. (Tables that have 2 or more attributes assigned throughout the shift will automatically be designated as 'Mixed'.)

To assign different availability attributes to tables throughout the shift:

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'Customize by Time and Slot'
  2. From here you'll see a list of your tables on the left side along with any table combinations you have in place.
  3. Click on the 15 minute increments you'd like to assign an attribute to and select from the table attributes on the bottom of the screen to assign.
  4. When you're finished click "Update Availability" in the bottom right corner to close out the window.

Pacing

Your pacing determines the maximum amount of covers bookable online every 15 minutes throughout your shift. Reservation times with pacing at capacity will not be bookable online. With new mandates, it is beneficial to adjust your pacing over a turn to align with how many guests are allowed in the building at a time.
