Prepaid reservations work best for a prix-fixe menu or experience where the cost is the same for each guest. Guests can prepay for their experience online or your staff can take payment over the phone.
To set this up, first, you’ll log-in to the Resy Dashboard
- Click the icon in the top left corner > Service > Shift Settings tab
- Click the menu icon (three dots) in the top right corner of a shift. Choosing 'edit' will open the shift details where you can make the necessary adjustments.
- Under Step 4, you will have the option to toggle on "Prepaid Reservation" under "Optional Policies"
- Once "Prepaid Reservation" is toggled on, gratuity options and a refund policy will show for you to select.
Once your new policy has been put in place, click "Update Shift" to apply the prepaid reservation to your settings.
Please note the base price is per person and sales tax will be applied. Resy fees will be waived through December 31, 2020. Once the reservation has been completed, it will take 3-5 business days for funds to be deposited into your bank account.
While this feature is typically used for a third party to purchase drinks or a meal for a guest, our partners on Platform 360 can repurpose this to offer their guests a contactless payment method. Guests can enter their own credit card information securely and your team can charge their card at the end of their experience once the final bill has been determined.
How to use Resy Prepay in ResyOS
-Select Maximum versus Fixed amount to allow room to account for sales tax and gratuity.
-Close out the check in your POS to a house account once the Resy Prepay has been processed.
-Request a transaction report to be added to your dashboard to assist with the reconciliation of your books.
Please note that it will take 3-5 business days for funds to be deposited into your bank account once the prepay has been charged.
