### **General Questions**

The Feature: Advance Analytics Overview

* Advanced Analytics is a set of 17 new reports that are broken down within six categories that are accessible from your Resy OS Dashboard. These specific reports were built based on feedback from restaurants and are intended to help your staff make smart business decisions based on actionable data.

Types of Reports and their functions

* **My Restaurant: Last 5 Weeks report** looks back at your restaurant’s daily stats over the past five weeks. If you look at this on a Tuesday, the report will show your restaurant’s performance over the last five Tuesdays. This is how we calculate our forecast for the ‘Today’ report.
* **Today Overview report** is a handy reference designed for pre-shift review with your floor managers.
* **Today: Spread of Shift** **report** helps to visualize today’s upcoming service by covers and reservations. We recommend sharing this with Back of House (BOH) so they can better anticipate large parties and high-volume times.
* **Yesterday: Overview report** is a perfect companion to your manager’s nightly recap email.
* **Yesterday: Spread of Shift report** is an additional companion to your manager’s nightly recap. It’s good to check your feelings with data, were the pops as close together as the kitchen felt?
* **Guest Info: Guestbook** is your restaurant’s full guestbook.
* **Guest Info: Overview report** highlights guests of note and provides insight into where your guests are coming from.
* **Guest Info: Details report** highlights guests with the most visits, your VIPs, and No-Show Diners. Use this report to tag guests in your system.
* **Guest Info: Trends report** covers your restaurant’s recent ratings and may be helpful to managers focusing on reviews and guest relations.
* **Waitlist: Waitlist Performance report** indicates how many covers on your waitlist are successfully seated at your restaurant and how many are lost. Use the insight from this report to seat more guests on your waitlist.
* **Waitlist: Quotes & Retention report** helps to evaluate your daily waitlist performance throughout each shift.
* **POS: Top Spenders report** lets you sort your top spenders by total spend, reservation count, Per Person Average (PPA), average party size, and spend per visit. Use this to tag guests in your system.
* **POS: Product Mix report** shows your most frequently ordered food items for First-Time Diners, your Top Food Spenders, and Item Category Sales by Reservation Source. Connect diners to their product mix and answer questions like ‘what items bring people back to my restaurant?’ and ‘do walk-ins order more beer and fewer appetizers than in-house diners?’
* **POS: PPA report** shows your Per Person Average (PPA) by shift and reservation source. Use this to fine-tune your books.
* **POS: Spend and Turn Time report** lays out spend by turn time and party size and answers which party size is your most profitable.

How do I get access to the reports?

You can access your restaurant’s Advanced Analytics Dashboard with the proper user permissions. If your Resy OS account already has permission to manage other users, you'll automatically have access to the Advanced Analytics Dashboard and can control and create user permissions for others. Please ensure the other users have the ‘Advanced Analytics’ option toggled on.

Want more information? Learn how to add, edit, remove, and manage all user permissions and logins in [this article.](https://helpdesk.resy.com/en_us/user-permissions-r1zCWDmU_)

Where can I locate these reports?

* In your Resy dashboard under "Reports".

How often do these reports refresh?

* New information is pulled into the reports every two hours.

How do I look at individual shift data for today and yesterday?

* In the top-left corner of the Daily Dashboard and Yesterday’s Summary under Service Period click ‘is any value’ and select from brunch, lunch, and dinner.

What if I see a report with no results?

* You might see some empty tiles in your reports. If you didn’t run a waitlist Wednesday, your Wednesday waitlist report will be blank. Or if you’re closed on Mondays, your Monday reports will always be blank.

How can I download data?

* You can download the data into a PDF to share with managers, owners, or more visual learners. You can also download the data into multiple CSV files if you’d like to maintain it for your records or crunch your own numbers for restaurants across a group.

* * *

### **Daily Dashboard**

How are averages determined?

* We look at your covers from that same day of the week for the past five weeks, average your total covers and add the average day-of covers plus walk-ins, then subtract day-of cancellations and no-shows.

What is the difference between reserved and confirmed?

* Confirmed reservations have been confirmed by the guest via automatic confirmation text or manually by your team. Reservations in the 'reserved' status have not yet been confirmed or were booked after the confirmation texts were sent.

* * *

###

### **Yesterday’s Summary**

What does the cover report show?

* The Cover Source report shows you where your guests are booking from. For example, restaurants that take a lot of reservations over the phone can expect to have a high percentage of guests booking through the iPad or via Web Booking.

What makes someone a ‘new regular?’

* New regulars are guests who have completed their third all-time visit to your restaurant. Make sure to note their status on their profile so you can acknowledge them and/or their loyalty the next time they dine!

What can I do with the average turn time by party size by server report?

* By looking at turn time by party size by server, you can see which servers are best at turning tables of every size and assign reservations accordingly. If a server struggles to turn large parties, maybe have them shadow a server who can get big tables in and out.

* * *

###

### **Guest Trends**

How does Resy determine a guest's primary or home city location?

* We look at which city this guest dines in most frequently.

What time frame do the Rating and Cover Source trend reports correspond to?

* This report shows your Cover Source and Ratings over the last 30 days.

Can I email all the guests in the guest report?

* You may only email guests who are marked as 'Marketable' in your Guestbook. Guests who are not marketable have opted out of marketing communications from your restaurant.

What is PII?

* PII stands for Personal Identifying Information. We indicate when there is PII tied to a guest for information security.

How do you determine guests with the shortest and longest turn times?

* These turn times are an average of that guest’s visit.

* * *

### **Waitlist**

What does waitlist retention mean?

* Waitlist retention is when a party is added to your waitlist and then successfully seated at your restaurant.

What is quoted time versus actual seated time?

* Quote time is the amount of time your door team quoted the guest when they added their name to the waitlist. The actual time is the amount of time between being added to the waitlist and successfully seated at your restaurant. Some restaurants like to under promise and over deliver by over-quoting their guests. Other restaurants aim for accuracy.

### **POS Data Information**

How does Resy OS have my POS information?

* If you've integrated Resy OS with your POS system, information like overall spend, PPA (price per average or cover average), and tip percentage will be pulled into this report. Find out if Resy integrates with your POS by checking [this list](https://helpdesk.resy.com/pos-integrations-BJ4QMDQLd) and reaching out to us at [resysupport@resy.com](mailto:resysupport@resy.com).

What does PPA mean?

* PPA stands for Price Per Average, meaning spend per person at your restaurant. This is also often referred to as Coverage Average or Price Per Person.

* * *

### **Venue Overview**

How can I change the time frame for the reports in the Venue Overview dashboard?

* You can select the DATE filter and adjust the time frame to look at year to date, month to date, last 90/60/30/14/7 days, or a custom time frame.
