## How to Seat a Guest

Seat a party by changing their status to “Seated” from the reservation list or the table on your iPad.

**Seating a Guest from Booked List**

1.  Tap on the status icon to the left of the guest's name that you want to seat.
2.  Change the status to "Seated".

**Seating a Guest from Table**

1.  Tap on the table that the guest you want to seat is housed on.
2.  To the left of their name, tap the status icon.
3.  Change status to “Seated.” Once a guest is seated, the reservation will move automatically to the “Seated” list on the left-hand side below your booked list.

If this is a term of art, define, explain or replace with e.g., "housed"

## How to Drag and Drop to Seat a Guest

Dragging and dropping reservations from the floor plan view will now assign and seat the reservation in one move.

To assign tables only, tap the table number to the right of the guest's name and the floor plan will prompt you to make a new table assignment choice. You can also always drag and drop reservations from the inventory view for table assignments.

**Please note**: This is the default behavior for all drag and drop actions from the floor plan view. If you prefer to drag and drop to assign tables, you can disable the feature from your Resy OS settings on the iPad by:

1.  Tapping the restaurant name in the top-left corner, then “Settings” and “Reservations”.
2.  Under “Reservation List”, toggle off “Auto-seat by dragging from reservation list to table”.
